The conscription into the army is an exciting period both for the young people themselves and for their parents. At the same time, it takes place twice a year and is called, respectively, the spring and autumn call. What is the time frame for the autumn campaign?
The timing of conscription campaigns in our country is regulated by Federal Law No. 53-FZ of March 28, 1998 "On conscription and military service."
Dates of conscription campaigns
The establishment of the time period during which conscription activities are carried out is devoted to article 25 of the specified normative legal act. It is she who establishes that the relevant bodies have the right to call up young people for military service twice a year: in spring and autumn.
The term of the spring conscription campaign by the specified federal law is established in the period from April 1 to July 15 of each year. The autumn conscription campaign runs from October 1 to December 31. At the same time, every year on the eve of the relevant date, the President of the Russian Federation issues a special decree confirming the start date of the draft and determines the number of young people who will go to service as part of the current campaign.
Special timing of the call
At the same time, it should be borne in mind that the indicated terms of conscription campaigns are valid only for citizens belonging to the general category of conscripts. In particular, Article 22 of Federal Law No. 53-FZ of March 28, 1998 "On Military Duty and Military Service" establishes that this category includes citizens of the Russian Federation who are between the ages of 18 and 27 and have no reason to receive a deferment or exemption from military service. Such reasons may be, for example, certain diseases or studies, as well as other reasons. A complete list of them is given in Articles 23 and 24 of the specified regulatory legal act.
At the same time, there are special categories of conscripts, in respect of which other terms for the implementation of conscription activities are applied. In total, the law identifies three groups of such “special” young people. The first of them is citizens who live in the Far North or other territories of equal status. In relation to this category, the terms of the conscription have been reduced by a month in comparison with the standard ones: for example, the spring conscription campaign lasts for them from May 1 to July 15, and the autumn one - from November 1 to December 31.
The second specific category is recruits who are residents of rural areas and take an active part in sowing and harvesting work. These citizens are subject to conscription only in the fall: from October 15 to December 31. Finally, special periods of call-up apply to teachers who are called up for service from May 1 to July 15 of each year.
