Parents, sending a child to school, give him parting words: "Study well!" Somehow it goes without saying that good and excellent grades of a child are the key to his success in the future, an opportunity to get a prestigious profession and a well-paid job. But life proves that not all successful people were excellent students at school, and "class stars" and "school pride" sometimes occupy a very modest place in adult life.

Problems of excellent students

A successful student, an excellent student, as a rule, does not cause concern for either teachers or parents. On the contrary, it seems to adults that he is quite well. In fact, earning "fives", the child can be guided not only by the desire for knowledge and the desire to succeed.

For children who are not too spoiled by parental attention, unsure of themselves and their merits, grades can become a kind of compensation, "payment" for the approval of parents and teachers. By delivering excellent grades, the child hopes to receive recognition of his talents in return. As adults, it is not easy for such people to realize that they can be loved and appreciated not because they are doing an excellent job in their social role, but for their personal merits and qualities.

Another problem for an excellent student is perfectionism. The desire to do everything perfectly in all areas of your life. Such people get lost when it is necessary to prioritize and highlight the main directions and tasks in their lives. For them, second place means defeat. But as you know, it is impossible to embrace the immensity and be the best in literally everything, in life you have to choose something most important and meaningful and give the chosen path maximum strength, talents and time. Otherwise, it is quite easy to bring yourself to nervous and physical exhaustion, which often happens with perfectionists.

Another misfortune of excellent students is that they do not know how to lose. Accustomed to being the first in everything, they do not know how to adequately perceive failures and learn from them life lessons. Sudden defeat against the backdrop of constant victories can be a real disaster for them. And where the less successful student tries to rectify the situation, the failed excellent student will only suffer and grieve over his plight.

Potential for excellent students and problems with the establishment of friendships, the ability to work in a team and organize joint activities. It so happens that the environment of a successful student has a rather consumer attitude towards his fellow-excellent student, because it is so convenient: there is someone to consult, get an explanation, write off, finally! And an excellent student may not have real friends who value not his academic success and knowledge, but his personal qualities.

Successful C grade students

But those guys who studied at school fairly average, in adulthood sometimes become quite successful people. It is known that 50% of businessmen were "C grade" at school. And this is more the rule than the exception.

This happens because the C-graders, in contrast to the excellent and good students, are not so focused on their studies, on proving to their parents and teachers how good they are. Children just choose what interests them. They are not afraid for their "reputation", so they are more likely to take risky or adventurous steps. Studying for them is not a means of building a career, but a necessity, a part of life to which they learn to adapt. They are not afraid of failure, they are not so keen on failures, and success and good grades that happen to them do not turn their heads. Plus, there is no need to look good in the eyes of parents and teachers.

As a result, C grade students are better adapted to life in society, more flexible and free than successful students. During their studies at school, they manage to acquire qualities that allow them to make a successful career, and to figure out what they really want in life, they sometimes do it faster and better.

Of course, it cannot be said that any excellent student will grow up to be an insecure perfectionist with an inferiority complex, and any C grade student will someday become a recognized genius. Success in life depends on many factors, but it is also wrong to say that the level of further life's well-being directly depends on academic success.
