It is believed that the Kalanchoe in the house creates a calm and healthy atmosphere. This plant, which has a relatively low height, no more than 0.5 m, is ideal for growing at home. It does not require special care, therefore it grows well even among those who do not know how to care for flowers.
Instructions
Step 1
Kalanchoe grows in South Africa and Madagascar, the soil prefers sandy soil. This plant does not like too much moisture, it is accustomed by evolution to harsh arid conditions, so do not flood it with too much water, otherwise the roots can rot.
Step 2
In addition to observing the rules of watering for the Kalanchoe, the composition of the soil is of great importance. This plant requires loose soil that allows air and water to pass freely. To do this, make sure that the soil contains little peat, as it interferes with ventilation. Kalanchoe rots and dies in a peat environment.
Step 3
It is rarely necessary to water the flower, it calmly endures a situation when the earth is almost completely dry. It is much worse in constantly wet soil. The air also loves dry. When you see that the upper layers of the earth are dry enough, then water the plant.
Step 4
In winter, Kalanchoe needs to be watered somewhat less frequently than in summer. And in the spring, it is generally recommended for him to arrange a short rest period, completely without watering.
Step 5
To give the plant a rest, at the very beginning of spring, as soon as the Kalanchoe fades, cut off all the flower stalks, and then put the pot in a shaded place. Do not water it for a couple of months, it is also advisable to keep it at a temperature of about 15 degrees Celsius.
Step 6
A month or two after the start of the rest, get the Kalanchoe out of a secluded place, put it back on the sunny windowsill. Now it can be watered as usual.
Step 7
In summer, instead of watering, it is useful to arrange feeding the plant from time to time. Liquid mineral fertilizers, which can be purchased at gardening stores, will only benefit him.
