Mumiyo is a mysterious substance given to us by nature. Much has been said about the medicinal properties of mumiyo, but few people know where and how this resinous substance is mined. And it is mined high in the mountains - where a person's foot very rarely steps.
Mumiyo deposits
Scientists and climbers filmed a video about the mumiyo deposits: https://www.youtube.com/embed/gHU30ds17r0. It can be seen from the video that the mumiyo actually grows inside the mountains, flows down like resin over rocky deposits and freezes in bizarre patterns. The mines for the extraction of mumiyo have a very ancient origin, because people guessed about the beneficial properties of this substance a long time ago, several thousand years ago.
Mumiyo was found in the mountainous hard-to-reach areas, and entire expeditions were organized to search for a healing substance. In Soviet times, the places where the mumiyo was mined were classified at the state level. Then this substance was in a semi-legal position. Apparently, the party bosses were afraid that there would not be enough mummy for everyone, and they were treated with it themselves, and the citizens were left under the tutelage of traditional medicine.
In 1964, the Soviet government set a task for scientists: to find deposits of mumiyo in the Soviet Union. It was necessary to refute the prevailing opinion that the tar-like substance can be found only in Iran, Afghanistan and the regions of Tibet. The expeditions went to the mountainous regions of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan. As a result of the expedition, sources of mumiyo were discovered in the Zarafshan, Chatkal, Pamir, Kopetdag, Turkestan regions of Central Asia.
The origin of the mumiyo
Studying the deposits of mumiyo, scientists suggested that different types of this substance have different origins. In the composition of "mountain resin" - mineral and organic elements, modified as a result of complex geological and organic processes. Depending on the origin, a mummy is distinguished, which arose as a result of natural processing and mineralization of the remains of animals and insects, the roots of conifers, excrement of small animals, and waste products of wild bees.
How mumiyo is obtained
Since the mumiyo deposits are located in grottoes and deep caves located at an altitude of about 3000 m above sea level, it is not easy to get the substance. Until now, the extraction of the substance has not acquired an industrial scale. Mumiyo is located on the surface of the rock in the form of drips, icicles or accumulations flowing from cracks. It has been noticed that most often mumiyo is found in caves in which high-altitude animals and birds live: hay mice and bats, wild pigeons and argali. The substance is simply collected by hand, scraping it from the walls of the cave.
In order to get a mumiyo, no equipment is required. The reserves of the substance in nature are limited, but since very small doses of mountain resin are required for medical use, it is believed that mumiyo is in abundance to meet human needs. Most often, mumiyo is obtained through the efforts of local residents who know where the deposits of the substance are.
