Modern lamps that save energy, after burnout, become a type of household waste with a higher hazard class. That is why they must be disposed of correctly. For recycling in all cities and other residential areas of the country, special collection points for burnt out energy-saving light bulbs are provided.
Instructions
Step 1
Lamps contain up to 5 mg of mercury vapor in their internal structure. If a light bulb accidentally breaks in an apartment, in a trash can or in a common trash can, it will have a toxic effect on the inhabitants of the house, on the state of wildlife. That is why it was initially recommended that, with the release of such lamps, they be handed over after working out to points for further industrial disposal.
Step 2
To properly dispose of an energy-saving light bulb, pack it after it burns out in its packaging or other cardboard, where it will not break. You can wrap several burned-out lamps in paper and put them in one box. Now you need to find collection points for such lamps in your city.
Step 3
Not all points accept used light bulbs from individuals. Some exist specifically for accepting large quantities of non-working lamps from large enterprises.
Step 4
In all cities, the reception of fluorescent lamps is carried out in the district DEZ and REU. For them, on the territory of such enterprises, special containers with a signature are installed. If you have not found the container, ask the administration of the enterprise how you can dispose of the lamp. Environmental cleaning services of the city are also obliged to accept for recycling not only mercury bulbs, but also used mercury thermometers and disposable batteries.
Step 5
The problem of delivery and acceptance of energy-saving lamps and other devices containing mercury has become so serious that in some cities of Russia the district prosecutor's offices of the cities appealed to the courts with a request to organize collection points for such raw materials by the HOA. In turn, the courts ordered the HOA to install containers and collection points for used lamps. Therefore, you can ask a reasonable question in your HOA, where you can take used lamps in everyday life.
