A real lie detector (polygraph) is a complex device, but it is often mistaken. At home, you can build a working model of it. It is difficult to judge how much you can trust her testimony, but she will react sensitively to changes in the emotional state.

Instructions

Step 1

Take a dial gauge with a total deflection current of about 100 microamperes.

Step 2

In a housing made of any material that is large enough to accommodate the microammeter, make the round holes required to accommodate it: one large for the magnetic system, and four small ones for the fasteners. Insert the device into the housing and secure it.

Step 3

Take a battery compartment that holds one AAA cell. Connect the positive terminal of the compartment to the positive terminal of the microammeter. Connect one lead of the resistor to one kilo-ohm to the negative terminal of the indicator, and connect a wire with a probe at the end to the opposite terminal of the resistor. Connect another such wire to the negative terminal of the battery compartment. The resistor is needed in order to limit the current through the indicator to 1.5 mA when the probes are short-circuited. At the same time, it will go off scale, but it will not be disabled.

Step 4

Insert the battery into the compartment. Make sure that if both probes are gripped and squeezed, the arrow deflects.

Step 5

Skin resistance is not the only parameter that will be measured by the current model of a lie detector. You also need to get information about the heart rate. Find any defective exercise bike, which, however, has a functional electronic unit. It includes an optical heart rate sensor that fits over the ear. Check if it works.

Step 6

During the test, simultaneously measure the subject's skin resistance and pulse rate. It is believed that if he is lying, then at the time of the answer at least one of these indicators noticeably changes in one direction or another. But remember that only a specialist can accurately interpret the readings of any lie detector. In no case should these readings be used as official ones, especially since the device is not certified. Also, never subject anyone to a lie detector test against his will, even in jest, and also do not pass off a device you have made as a medical device. Such actions are criminally punishable: in the first case, they are considered the use of force, in the second, they are fraudulent.
