Volunteers are people who voluntarily and gratuitously engage in work that is useful to society. They help people in trouble or those who need help. For example, the work of volunteers during floods is very important.

To become a volunteer help to society, first of all, you need to answer the question to yourself: “Will I be able to help people? Will I cope with this job? " You also need to be prepared for the fact that going to the disaster zone, you will have to live in "field" conditions, rely only on yourself and not distract other volunteers with your problems. After all, here they do not help you, but people in trouble.

To become a good volunteer, you need to be able to provide at least first aid. It is also not bad to have excellent health and athletic training.

If all this does not scare you, contact volunteer organizations that work in the disaster zone and offer your help. In such organizations, volunteers are always in short supply. Therefore, as a rule, they accept into their ranks everyone who wants to help people. Specify in which disaster areas the victims are most in need of support and what kind of assistance is needed there first of all.

Before heading to the disaster area, collect the necessary items that you will need while helping the injured. First, bring special waterproof clothing and rubber boots. Secondly, changeable underwear and warm clothes. And also a shovel, an ax, a flashlight and a supply of batteries, a strong rope and a first aid kit with medicines. Don't forget drinking water and canned food. You will also need a sleeping bag or tent.

You will be of great help to victims of floods if you have a gazelle or a minibus. Flooded people always need things, bed linen, medicines, and other essentials. And it often happens that humanitarian aid does not reach remote settlements caught in the disaster zone. This is where your transport comes in handy.

And most importantly, help should come to the victims on time. So if you've decided to volunteer and go to a disaster area, don't delay. After all, where there has recently been a flood, people are waiting and hoping that a helping hand will be extended to them as soon as possible.
