Step 1
If a household service has appeared in your city or district that takes out exclusively sorted waste, you need to find out which groups or categories you need to divide it into. The simplest separation of garbage: household waste that can decompose on its own and everything else. There may also be a separate container for paper and cardboard, glass and metal, or such debris, which is very difficult to identify. Clarify exactly how your household service accepts the sorted waste so that there will be no disagreement in the future on this issue.
Step 2
What can and cannot be put into separate containers? If you collect waste in a paper or cardboard container, you must take into account that only dry and clean paper is placed here. Place old magazines or newspapers, notebooks and empty cardboard boxes in this container. If the paper is dirty or wet in the waste paper bin, it can no longer be sorted. The fact is that paper waste goes into processing for the production of recyclable materials, and here certain quality standards are imposed.
Step 3
In a separate container, it is necessary to sort biological waste and everything that can decompose on its own. These are leftovers from food: meat, fish, bread and the like, vegetables and fruits. You can also put wet and stained napkins or bed damp paper here. Plant residues and house flowers are also sorted into this container. However, it should be remembered that some types of garbage cannot be disposed of in self-degradable household waste. For example, liquid soups, drinks, and fermented milk products and large bones. Anything that does not decompose should be sorted separately.
