Public transport is well developed and successfully operates in Yaroslavl. The main mode of transport in the city is the bus. In total, 87 bus routes for municipal and commercial transport have been developed in Yaroslavl. Passengers are transported by more than 400 buses of large and medium capacity and more than 500 buses of small capacity.
All information about routes, arrival-departure times, intervals of movement can be found on the board, which are located at all public transport stops in Yaroslavl. At some stops, additional LED displays are installed. Information management on them is carried out via the GSM cellular network channel from the central server of the automated system in the Dispatch center. In the Yaroslavl city bus depot, there are several LIAZ buses with a low floor and a folding ramp, designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities. They have a navigation system, so the fleet dispatcher has the ability to provide information about the time of the bus's approach to a particular stop.
Some buses of urban municipal transport have video cameras. One of the cameras captures everything that happens in the cabin, and the other - along the way. With the help of them, employees of the Yaroslavl squad control center monitor the route, which allows them to quickly respond to incidents.
For trips in the city transport of Yaroslavl, residents purchase electronic travel cards. A single trip can be paid at the bus conductor. There are two types of control tickets used: simple and concessionary. Categories of citizens entitled to travel at a reduced cost must present the appropriate document upon payment. Travel discounts are not valid when traveling with commercial vehicles.
