A very important indicator for any entrepreneur is the area of the warehouse where the finished product will be stored. When calculating it, doubts often arise about various parameters. If we take into account all the characteristics and adhere to a certain order, all issues will be resolved.

Necessary

  • - sales volumes in monetary terms;
  • - cargo turnover;
  • - the number of tiers in the warehouse.

Instructions

Step 1

Determine the turnover of the future warehouse. To do this, divide the sales in monetary terms calculated on the basis of the purchase value by the freight turnover. As a rule, cargo turnover is determined in a practical way: the average amount of goods that is delivered to the warehouse for a certain period is divided by its volume. Choose the period based on the data of your logistics department. It can be a month, half a year or a year, depending on the intensity of movement of goods in the warehouse.

Step 2

Determine the average inventory that will be kept in the warehouse. To do this, divide the rest of the goods in the warehouse by the cost of one square meter. The resulting figure is the inventory. After that, determine the average inventory for the last year: multiply the inventory by the coefficient 1, 2-1, 4 (the coefficient depends on the intensity of movement of the goods, the more intensive the turnover, the higher the coefficient).

Step 3

Determine the total area of the zone (Stotal storage) where the products will be stored. The following initial data are required for the calculation:

ТЗср - average inventory;

Кн.з - coefficient of uneven loading of the warehouse (for all adopted 1, 2);

Kraz - development coefficient (equal to 2);

Ki.o - volume utilization factor (taken within the range of 0, 35-0, 45);

Ki.p - area utilization factor (taken within 0, 65-0, 75);

Kjarus - the number of storage tiers;

Kkoml - coefficient for a warehouse with order picking in the storage area (equal to 1, 1);

Npal - pallet height (1.65-1.8 m).

According to the formula Stot.хр = ТЗср * Кн.з. * Kraz * Kcompl / (Ki.o. * Ki.p * Kyarus * Npal) calculate the area of the storage area of products.

Step 4

Determine the area of the putaway area. To do this, multiply the area of the storage area by 12%.

Step 5

Determine the total area of the area where the goods are shipped. To do this, multiply the area of the storage area by 8%.

Step 6

Calculate the area of the control zone and order picking in the warehouse. To do this, multiply the area of the storage area by 10%.

Step 7

Determine the area of the auxiliary premises in the warehouse. The total area of auxiliary premises is calculated by multiplying the number of warehouse workers by the area norm per person. This rate is 4 m².
