Car owners are probably familiar with the problem of an unpleasant smell in the car interior due to a dirty air conditioner evaporator. How many ways to clean it are not offered to each other by drivers. Of course, the best way out is to contact the service, but what to do when there is neither time nor money for specialists?

Instructions

Step 1

Read the instructions supplied with the air conditioner. Find out all the design features of the general ventilation system of the car. Most importantly, ensure easy access to the air conditioner evaporator.

Step 2

You can access the air conditioner directly from under the hood by removing the cabin air filter first. On some car models, access to the air conditioner can be obtained while in the cabin. In this case, it is enough to dismantle the glove box (ordinary "glove compartment") and remove the cabin air filter.

Step 3

Regardless of the system configuration, you can clean the ventilation system through the condensate drain pipe, but in some cases this method is not possible without lifting the car.

Step 4

Dry the evaporator of the air conditioner. Warm up the car engine and turn on the interior heater at full power for a few minutes. Place a process vessel under the air conditioner drain tube to collect any remaining fluid (the tube is usually found on the underside of the vehicle or on the engine panel).

Step 5

Now move the temperature control to the middle position and spray the cleaning agent onto the evaporator (the best drugs are German) using a spray probe from under the hood, from the passenger compartment or from the bottom (depending on which side you got access to the air conditioner from)).

Step 6

After you have sprayed about ¾ the amount of the drug, stop the engine and spray the remainder into the ventilation deflectors in the passenger compartment. To do this, first insert the probe as much as possible inside the passenger compartment, and then gradually pull it out.

Step 7

Wait for the drug to take effect and dry the vaporizer again. To do this, start the engine and turn on the heater at full power.

Step 8

After this procedure, the evaporator of the air conditioner will be clean for at least 3 months. However, this control period can be increased if in the future, 5 minutes before parking, you turn off the air conditioner and turn on the heater at the maximum possible power. During this time, the evaporator will have time to dry, which will prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi.
