In hardware stores and jewelry stores, you can find special solutions and materials for cleaning silver. But if you do not have special tools, and you need to clean your jewelry, use the tips for cleaning silver at home.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a small, deep cup. Pour 1 tsp into it. ammonia and 10 tsp. water. Add a few drops of shampoo or dish soap. Dip the chain into the resulting solution and stir. Leave the chain in the solution for 5 minutes, remembering to stir occasionally. The cleaning time can be extended if the contamination is very strong. Remove the chain and rinse with running water. After rinsing, dry the jewelry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Step 2
If you do not need to clean the chain immediately, then you can use the following methods:
Pour 2 tsp into a cup. soap solution, the same amount of lemon juice and vodka. Stir the mixture and dip the silver piece into it. Leave the chain in this solution overnight, then rinse it thoroughly.
You can also place the chain in a sweet carbonated drink at night.
Pour some water into a saucepan so that the chain floats freely in it. Place a piece of household foil and a few tablespoons of tea soda in the water. Boil the chain in this solution for 20-30 minutes.
Step 3
Slightly tarnishing silver can be cleaned with toothpaste. Squeeze some toothpaste onto a soft cloth and rub the chain with it. It is better to take a flannel rag. Rinse the chain after cleaning.
Instead of toothpaste, you can use chalk, tea soda, or toothpaste.
Step 4
If the chain is very dark and you need to clean it urgently, then boil it in a sweet carbonated drink.
