Step 1
Making a billiard table is painstaking work, but even a person who does not know the art of cabinetry can cope with it. All materials can be purchased in stores selling furniture leftovers and waste. Do not use raw wood, measure the dimensions carefully before sawing and cutting workpieces. Do not hurry. Even with meticulous detailing, you can get the job done in three to four days.
Step 2
Tackle the pool table base. For him, you need solid and perfectly even bars. File and sand them. The length of the longitudinal bar is 1005 mm, of the fastening and longitudinal ones - 532 mm. Connect them by glueing the edges with glue and tightening with screws. The finished base looks like a frame. Dry the workpiece. Use a hacksaw to cut the edges at a 45 degree angle. Make the legs and attach them with glue and screws. Cover all parts with two or three coats of varnish.
Step 3
Choose a material for your countertop. It can be plywood or 600 x 1000 mm particle board. Remove irregularities with a hacksaw and polish the workpiece with a sandpaper. Mark the contours of the countertop on the sheet and cut the grooves with a hacksaw and a chisel. File the grooves with a file.
Step 4
Finish decorative strips. Take the prepared blocks, saw off the corners, aligning the size. File the joints with a file and sand the surface of the part. Finish the sides in the same way. Cover the finished parts with varnish in two or three layers, each drying well.
Step 5
Cut a strip of rubber equal to the length of the bead and 30 mm wide. Lubricate its end with glue, attach to the edge of the bead and nail with two nails. Stretch the strip along the entire bead and secure it at the opposite end in the same way. Cut off a strip of fabric and cover the bead, which was previously coated with glue, with it. Fold in the edges by smearing them with extra glue and tucking the ends of the rubber strip inward. Secure with two nails.
Step 6
Make 4 corner brackets and 2 side brackets from plywood and aluminum overlays (it is best to use ready-made ones of suitable size). Wire staples will also be needed. File the ends of the wire with a file.
Step 7
Start assembling the billiards. Nail the tabletop to the base of the table. Cut a 600 x 1020 mm piece of lining fabric. Thoroughly coat the countertop with glue, including the sides. Glue the lining to the surface, gently smoothing the creases with your hands. Fold the edges of the fabric under the countertop. Cut a piece of decorative upholstery measuring 610 x 1030 mm. Place it on a table surface and spread it out. Spread glue around the edges of the fabric and fold it under the countertop by 10 mm. Secure the upholstery with nails.
Step 8
Install the boards and pockets. Previously, holes for screws must be drilled in the side. First attach long, and then short beads and fix them with screws so that the heads do not protrude above the surface. On the outside of the sides, glue the decorative strips with glue and nail them with nails. Attach the finished nets to the pockets. Fasten them with plywood brackets and aluminum strips and screw them in. Check if the billiard ball goes into the pocket.
Step 9
Make a cue stick out of a round stick with a diameter of about 25 mm. Cut it in a cone, following the straight lines. Sand the cue and varnish in two to three layers. Glue a piece of felt onto the end. Make an equilateral triangle from the planks, holding it together with glue and small nails. Sand it and varnish it. The triangle is needed to lay out the balls evenly on the field.
