The moon is the only natural satellite of the earth. There is still no single answer to the question of how the moon originated, but it is indisputable that it has been adjacent to the Earth for many billions of years. Throughout human history, the moon has been the object of close study by humans. In 1969, the Moon became the first, and today the only cosmic body, which was visited by people who confirmed the fact of its uninhabitedness. However, this fact was known long before the Apollo 11 mission.
The main sign of the Moon's lifelessness is the fact that it has practically no atmosphere. Astronomers have established this by the absence of dusk and sunset. If on Earth the night comes gradually, because the air reflects the sun's rays even after sunset, then on the Moon the change from daylight to dark occurs instantly. Subsequently, it was found that the moon has a symbolic atmosphere, but it is absolutely insignificant and is recorded only by instruments. Due to the lack of a full-fledged atmosphere, the moon is not protected from the harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun. On Earth, the ozone layer is an obstacle to ultraviolet rays, which the satellite of our planet does not have. The absence of an atmosphere affects the temperature - the surface of the Moon is either excessively hot or excessively cold. The temperature on the sunlit side can reach over 120 degrees Celsius. A hot lunar day lasts two weeks, followed by a night of the same duration. At night, the temperature drops to 160 degrees below zero. According to the prevailing point of view in modern science, liquid water is an indispensable component for the origin of life. For a long time, the discussion about the presence of water on the Moon remained open, until in July 2008 a group of American geologists from the Carnegie Institution and Brown University found in the lunar soil samples traces of water released from the bowels of the satellite in the early stages of its existence. However, most of this water subsequently evaporated into space. Later, the LCROSS probe and the Chandrayan-1 lunar spacecraft officially proved the existence of water on the Moon. But this water is present in the form of ice blocks resting at the bottom of lunar craters and slowly evaporating water into space. There is no liquid water necessary for the emergence of life on the Moon. In the conditions described above, the emergence of life in the modern sense of it is impossible. It was also established that in the natural conditions of the moon, none of the forms of life known on Earth can exist. These facts provide a full explanation of the moon's uninhabitability.
