One of the basic requirements for any technical system is to be manageable. This fully applies to heating systems, as well as water supply systems. When laying such communications, various types of shut-off and control equipment are widely used, in particular, control valves.
Instructions
Step 1
Determine for which type of system you need to select a control valve. Such shut-off valves are used both in apartment water supply systems and in the laying of industrial communications. They differ in the power of the transmitted flow, size and other significant characteristics.
Step 2
To install a shut-off valve in an apartment, select a conventional tap used in hot and cold water mixers. Such control valves allow smooth adjustment of the working mixture, which is achieved by a threaded connection that moves the spindle and valve.
Step 3
The household control valve is equipped with a sealing element made of leather, rubber or paronite. When choosing a valve for domestic water applications, make sure the stem seal is made from a safe and environmentally friendly material such as PTFE.
Step 4
Control valves called ball valves are used to regulate the flow rate and shut it off. They are easy to use, reliable and durable. When choosing a ball valve, consider the operating pressure that the locking device will have to deal with.
Step 5
Choosing a ball valve, stop your choice on a body made of brass with subsequent chrome plating. Of the seals used in such designs, Teflon is the most successful.
Step 6
If you want the valve to have additional functions and capabilities, choose a device with a reduction. This allows you to absorb water hammer that may occur in the system. Typically, the valve has an indicator to help limit the flow of fluid in the system.
Step 7
The main thing to pay attention to when choosing locking and regulating devices is the quality of the seals and the material from which the locking element is made. Ideal if the construction uses brass or bronze, as well as a paronite seal. For ball valves, stem design is important; the simpler it is (while maintaining efficiency), the more reliable the device. In high-quality ball structures, the stem is located from the inside, therefore, even in the event of a break in the rotary handle, it will not fall out, preventing possible flooding of the room.
