Euroslate is a fairly popular material for the roofing of a private house or bath. It is known for its good performance and low price. Both ondulin and corrubit are similar to classical slate only in appearance - these are the same corrugated sheets.
What to look for when choosing?
Euroslate of any brand is often called Ondulin. In fact, it is a French, well-known brand of roofing material. Onduline is one of the first to appear on the domestic market. Today on sale you can find a roof covering of German production Bituwell, Belgian Aqualine, material of the Turkish brand Corrubit (corrubite). There are both Russian and Chinese brands on sale.
Externally, sheets from different manufacturers are very similar. The manufacturing processes in factories are the same. The main difference is the composition of the impregnating minerals and paints. Usually the sizes of sheets also differ, but not significantly - from 2, 7 to 5 mm.
When choosing a trademark for euro-slate, you can pay attention to the offered range of colors. Please note that the same colors may differ in shades. Sheets are matte or glossy. Decide in advance what components will be needed for a particular roof. Their choice from one manufacturer may be more represented than from another. Usually, the final cost of the roof depends on the set and quality of fasteners.
It is important to distinguish between different brands
Try not to combine euro-slate of different brands on the same roof. During installation, this difference can cause significant inconvenience, although it will be invisible to the eye. For example, the French-made euro-slate is 30 mm wider than the Turkish one, it is also a little heavier in weight. Ondulin and corrubite sheets can be red, green, or brown. Onduline also comes in black. The surface of the sheets from France is rough to the touch, and the Turkish Euro-slate is smooth.
In production, mineral fiber is used as a base, which is impregnated with bituminous resins and processed with a protective layer. Turkish sheets have high strength characteristics. They are light in weight and resistant to corrosion. French Euroslate is made from cellulose fibers, various fillers and pigments. It is also impregnated with bitumen and resins. Differs in high ability to withstand various climatic conditions. Both types of roofing material are considered environmentally friendly.
The advantages also include resistance to the effects of chemicals, ultraviolet radiation, industrial gases. Onduline and Corrubit are resistant to external influence of mold, fungi and other microorganisms. The average service life of roofing materials is 15 years.
