When going on a trip, it makes sense to decide what type of transport you want to use. Traveling by train is quite convenient and fast. In addition, there is an opportunity to choose a more comfortable carriage for yourself. For example, a reserved seat should be preferred to a coupe.

Instructions

Step 1

The compartment car belongs to the second class, it usually consists of 9 (less often 10) compartments, each of which is designed to accommodate four passengers. The compartments are located in one line and have adjacent walls. They are fenced off from the side passage with a blank partition. All compartments go out into a common passage. Depending on the year of manufacture, cars are divided into soft (in the ticket they are marked with the letter "M") and hard ("K"). Their main difference lies in the upholstery of berths. Gradually, cars with rigid shelves are becoming a thing of the past, giving way to more comfortable ones.

Step 2

There are four berths in the compartment: two lower ones and two upper ones located above them. The lower seats in all carriages are odd-numbered, with luggage compartments underneath them. There is a window opposite the entrance, and a folding table is attached to the windowsill. There is also a luggage niche above the aisle. Due to the absence of side shelves (as in the reserved seat), the berths in the compartment are longer, because the overall width of the carriage remains unchanged. Modern coupes are equipped with air conditioning and padded backrests along the lower seats.

Step 3

An individual lamp is installed at the head of each shelf, designed to illuminate only one berth. In addition, there is a general light, which is controlled by a switch located at the entrance. Under the table you will find radiators and, if the carriage is not too old, a compartment used as a trash can. There are 220 V sockets, but, unfortunately, they almost always do not work. The compartment walls are equipped with small shelves, hooks for outerwear and towels.

Step 4

The biggest advantage of the coupé is that it is separated from the side passage by a door mounted on runners and sliding sideways. This door is locked, ensuring the peace and safety of the passengers inside and their personal belongings. A rather large mirror is mounted in the door, which makes it possible to put yourself in order at least a little during the trip. For the convenience of sleeping in the compartment, ordinary cotton mattresses, feather pillows and woolen blankets are used. Bed linen is given individually to everyone.

Step 5

Recently, in connection with the implementation of a program to eliminate social inequality, the number of compartments in compartment cars has been increased to 10 or 11. The side passage near them, the entrances to the compartment and the distance between the shelves are much larger, and there are only two berths. These compartments are designed for wheelchair users and persons accompanying them.
