On August 1, another theme train began to run in the Moscow metro. This event is dedicated to a significant date - the 175th anniversary of the beginning of the functioning of railways in Russia.
There are no such familiar and annoying advertisements in the carriages of the theme train; the walls are decorated with posters related to the railway theme. For example, there are various photographs, photocopies of historical documents related to the formation and development of this type of transport in our country. Of course, among them - materials telling about the first railway in Russia, which connected St. Petersburg with Tsarskoe Selo. The decision to build it was made by Emperor Nicholas I in April 1836. Construction began almost immediately, and this road was put into operation at the end of 1837.
The new theme train made its maiden voyage from Vystavochnaya station to Mezhdunarodnaya station. In the future, it will constantly run on the Metro Circle Line.
It should be noted that this is far from the first themed train in the Moscow metro. The Red Arrow train, launched in 2006 on the Sokolnicheskaya Line, made its debut in this role. It was named so in honor of the famous express train, which makes flights on the route Moscow - St. Petersburg. Its carriages are also adorned with posters about rail transport. On the same Sokolnicheskaya line in 2010, the Sokolniki train was launched, which is decorated in a retro style, imitating the very first train of the Moscow metro. The choice of the line for this train is not accidental. The Moscow metro began operation in 1935, and trains ran along the Sokolniki - Park Kultury route, with a branch to the Smolenskaya station.
There are five more theme trains. For example, the Aquarelle train, which has been operating on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line since 2007. Its carriages are decorated with reproductions of the artist S. Andriyaka. Or the “Reading Moscow” train, which began work in the same 2007. In each of his carriages, you can see materials dedicated to a specific literary theme. It is likely that in the future, passengers of the Moscow metro will see other themed trains.
