After the death of a loved one, most people feel confused and have no idea what steps to take next. They are faced with important questions related to the paperwork and the organization of the funeral. How to deal with this situation?
Call an ambulance and report the death of the person. In all cities of Russia, to call the ambulance brigade from landline telephones, number 03 is used. To call from a mobile phone, dial the combination 030, 003 or 030303. If your phone does not have funds for a call, dial the number of the United Rescue Service - 112. Ask the ambulance staff whether you need to report death to the police, or they will do it on their own. Use numbers 02, 020, 002, 020202 or 112 to call the police. Do not touch the body until the medical examiners and police officers arrive. If a person died by force, do not move the surrounding objects, try not to touch anything, if possible, leave the premises before the arrival of specialists. Obtain a death certificate from a doctor, and a protocol of examination of the body from the police. If you want the body of the deceased to be in the morgue before burial, call the specialized transportation service (you can get its number from the medical examiner). Pass the police protocol and death certificate with the body with the service staff, and in return, take a referral to the clinic for a death certificate. Take the protocol of the examination of the body or a referral issued by the transportation service, medical policy, outpatient card and passport of the deceased, as well as your passport and go to the clinic for a medical death certificate. With a medical death certificate and your passport at the registry office, receive a stamped death certificate and a certificate (form 33) for receiving burial allowance. Contact the funeral service to place an order for a funeral, burial or cremation. With a death certificate received from the registry office, a death certificate, an application for a burial allowance, the work record of the deceased and a certificate from the place of residence, within 6 months from the date of death, contact the Pension Fund (if the deceased received a pension), social protection authorities the population (in the event of the death of an unemployed person) or at the place of work of the deceased (if he worked) in order to receive a burial allowance.
