Perhaps every person at least once in his life encounters the fact of extortion of money. Most often it is the extortion of bribes by officials, teachers, those who borrowed money. If one of them extorts money, what to do in this case? The answer is simple - go to law enforcement agencies with a statement of extortion. Usually, the perpetrator is arrested at the time the money is handed over. But there are also more complex cases.
For example, a person borrows money, returns it after a while, but the one who loaned the money still continues to insist that it was not given. In this case, it will not hurt to have witnesses, audio or video recording of the fact of extortion, which will prove the creditor's guilt in court. But the best way to avoid such a situation is to borrow and lend money only against a receipt.
There are more serious and dangerous cases - when bandits extort money. This situation requires no less attention than the previous one, since the bandits pose a serious threat to the life of the blackmailed. Most often, bandits extort money through threats - from burning down a house to killing relatives. But sometimes they can cause serious harm to the health of the person being blackmailed. So what should be done in this case and where to go if they are extorting money? There are three ways you can do it.
The first method involves paying money to the extortionists. But this does not guarantee that after paying the requested amount, they will lag behind you.
The second way is to start swearing and shouting, threatening the extortionists with Article 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. They can get scared and leave you alone, but at the same time, with threats you can only anger the bandits, because of which you will suffer personally, your property or relatives.
And the third way is to stay calm and take the time to find out more information, and ideally, record a conversation on a tape recorder or telephone in which money is extorted from you. You should not show that you categorically refuse to pay money. You should carefully find out how much money the extortionists need, where and when this money should be transferred to them. Then you need to contact the police, where they will explain to you how to behave with the extortionists further.
In any case, extortion should be remembered that it is a criminal offense that punishes with prison and a huge fine. And the criminal must be punished, since inaction and lawlessness only increase the number of cases of extortion of money.
