"Buran" is a common model of a snowmobile. It is, in fact, a small tractor with very limited customization options. Therefore, if there is a desire to drive and enjoy the ride, it is better to change it to a modern model. For those who want to use their snowmobile for moving through the snow with a load, it makes sense to do a few useful things.
Instructions
Step 1
Change the touching moment, increase the top speed, optimize the fuel consumption.
Step 2
Optimize the performance of the centrifugal regulator. Install the node from "Taiga" (assembled). To replace, make a cone-adapter (the inner part is "Buran", and the cone itself is "Taiga"). This will allow the most accurate match between the characteristics of the motor and the operating conditions.
Step 3
Increase engine power by modifying the crankcase purge passages. The crankcase, which is produced, is universal, old 2-channel cylinders will fit it. The use of modern cylinders with 4-channel purge is ineffective. Remove any bumps and burrs left after channel milling. Polish the channels and the motor will give the 36 hp it should. In order to increase the power, you need to increase the compression ratio. Install a Mikuni carburetor with a diffuser diameter of 38-40 mm. Switch to AI-92 gasoline.
Step 4
Part with the standard intake silencer: you will increase the engine power a little more. Make a fine mesh air filter and attach it to the carburetor with a hose clamp.
Step 5
Install the starting nozzle, which is supplied with the new "Burana" (from the same "Taiga"). To do this, it is not necessary to install a Mikuni carburetor, fix the fitting on the inlet pipe, and lead the tube to the fitting. Taking into account the air temperature, it is possible to dose the starting portion of the fuel very accurately. This will get rid of the smell of gasoline pouring out and save up to a liter of fuel from each filling.
Step 6
Reduce engine noise by covering the inside of the engine compartment with soundproofing material.
Step 7
Install closed 205 bearings in the rollers (all grease is washed out from ordinary bearings in a season) - this is the only thing that you can change in the chassis.
