A person's physique is classified into specific groups based on various characteristics. Very often you can hear such an expression as "heavy bone". What this characteristic means is not always clear. In this case, as a rule, we mean not the weight, but the width of the bones. In medicine, this type of physique is called "hypersthenic". Determining whether you belong to the category of people with a heavy bone is very simple. It is enough to do a few simple tests.
Instructions
Step 1
Before determining your body type, remember some important information. It is believed that people with heavy bones tend to be overweight. However, this is not quite true. Bone width plays a more visual role than a sign of a tendency to be overweight.
Step 2
People with a large bone structure have wider hips, chest, shoulders and rather short legs. That is why, even if a person with such a physique does not have excess body fat, then outwardly he still does not look thin.
Step 3
Whether you really belong to this type, you can use the definition of the "Soloviev index." All you need to do is measure the circumference of your wrist. Heavy bone is mainly found in people whose wrist girth exceeds the following:
- 17 cm for women;
- 20 cm for men.
Step 4
If you don't have a centimeter handy, you can measure the bone in an even easier way. To do this, simply wrap your left hand around your right hand. The girth should be done with your thumb and forefinger. If you succeed and your fingers closed, then you should not classify yourself as a person with a heavy bone. If there is a gap between the toes and you can't connect them, then your body type is broad-boned.
Step 5
You can determine the type of bones using the comparison method. It is enough to put two people with different physiques next to each other and try to understand the reasons for the visual difference. People with light and narrow bones have more fragile proportions than the broad-boned types.
