Deadly Mushrooms

The most poisonous species of mushrooms growing on the territory of Russia are toadstools. Pale toadstool contains amanitotoxin, which damages the liver and causes toxic hepatitis. Even 1 piece of this mushroom is enough for a lethal outcome, 1 mushroom can poison 2-3 people.

Unfortunately, amanitotoxin is not neutralized by heat treatment or exposure to vinegar and salt. The mushroom itself is very similar to edible relatives and differs from honey agaric only in a large oval thickening at the bottom of the leg. The danger of toadstool is increased by the fact that the symptoms of poisoning appear only when the treatment can no longer help due to the complete decomposition of the liver tissue and partial decomposition of the stomach and intestinal tissues.

The bordered gallerina also has a poison similar in structure - a type of small in size and rather beautiful mushrooms, similar in appearance to honey agarics.

The most famous inedible type of mushroom is, of course, the fly agaric. Beautiful red caps with white dots are a sign of the red fly agaric, and there are about 600 other species of these mushrooms. Some types of fly agarics are edible and conditionally edible, but it's better not to risk it anyway. Amanita mushrooms contain several toxic substances - muscarine, muscaridin, scopalamin. Their effect on the body can be fatal or severe poisoning, accompanied by hallucinations, nausea, vomiting.

The most poisonous of the spiderweb mushroom species is the orange-red spiderweb. The poison begins to act on the body after a very long time - 3-5 days - and affects the kidneys and liver. If untreated, death can occur within a few weeks. In case of mild poisoning, treatment can take up to 2-3 months.

Common poisonous mushrooms

The satanic mushroom - similar to boletus - has a very telling name. Satanic mushroom poisoning causes diarrhea, vomiting, pain in the stomach and intestines, but it goes away after a few days without long-term harm to the body. The poison contained in the satanic mushroom decomposes when boiled and cooked for a long time.

Quite poisonous, although not so dangerous for humans, are almost all rows, in particular tiger, destructive, detached and other types of rows. They are not fatal, but cause nausea, diarrhea, seizures, and headaches. The poisoning disappears within 4-5 hours after consumption and does not cause further consequences.

In addition, it should be remembered that even edible mushrooms under certain conditions (for example, with the development of certain bacteria in the body of the fungus) can be fatal to humans.
