Poems as congratulations and performances have become very popular in our society. But really - in a poetic form, you can seriously and humorously describe what prose will be boring and monotonous. A successful rhyme can say more than a long, prosaic line.
Instructions
Step 1
Decide on the theme of your poem. Since you will be writing about yourself, these can be stages of your biography: childhood, study, marriage. This can be a submission to a competition in which you will assess your character, creative success, and achievements. Depending on the topic, title your work. The options may be as follows: “I was born”, “Mom, dad, I am a very friendly family”, “Did you recognize me?”, “Jubilee”.
Step 2
Pick up rhymes. This is the most difficult job. Mayakovsky said: "Rhyme is a bill." Rhymes should be accurate, original and bright. They not only create an image, but also organize the rhythm of the verse. If rhymes don't work, start with a game called burime. Its essence lies in the fact that the appropriate text is selected for the given rhymes.
Step 3
Now check the size of your poem. The sizes can be two-syllable (trochee, iambic) and three-syllable (dactyl, amphibrachium, anapest). To do this, place the stress in the words, break them into syllables and determine the pattern of stressed syllables. If the stress falls on every odd syllable, it is trochee. For every even - iambic. There can be two unstressed syllables between stressed syllables. With the stress on the first syllable - dactyl, on the second - amphibrach, on the third - anapest. It is important that the entire poem is written in the same size. If there is no match, change the words. Match with a different number of syllables, with emphasis on other vowels.
Step 4
Set the rhythm for your poem. To do this, count the number of syllables in each line of the poem. There must be the same number of them. There can be a different number of syllables in the lines. But such a discrepancy should be regularly repeated in each stanza.
Step 5
If you couldn't get the job done, pick up and revise popular poems and songs. They already have a rhyme, a rhythm is set, and the time is respected. Your task is not to break the structure of the poem by adding your own material.
Step 6
Work on the language of your poem. Use visual media. The most common are epithets, metaphors, comparisons, impersonations. The more unexpected and accurate they are, the more interesting the poem.
Step 7
The work on the poem is classified as creative. Create a soulful mood and be creative.
