In recent years, a huge number of new types of fabrics and materials have been invented and invented. One of the most amazing is Tencel. Its unique characteristics make it possible to use the fabric in the manufacture of not only clothes, but also bedding, towels, as well as use in furniture decoration and interior decoration.

What is Tencel fabric

Tencel is the latest generation of nanotechnology made from wood pulp fibers. Eucalyptus has proven itself especially well as the main raw material.

After the primary processing of tree trunks, wood pulp is obtained, which is later ground in water. After that, the resulting raw material is forced through dies and long fibers are formed under tension. They are dried in the sun and it is from them that tencel is made.

The fibers obtained from this processing are called Liocell. They were patented in 1988 in the USA. The material itself tensel is soon 30 years old, but it gained particular popularity in the 90s and has been constantly improving since then.

Tencel is very similar in texture to silk, is not inferior in strength to viscose, and at the same time it is soft like cotton.

Tencel fabric properties

Due to the fact that this fabric is produced exclusively from natural materials, it is completely biodegradable, which speaks of the concern of its manufacturer for the environment.

However, considering its advantages exclusively from the point of view of the consumer, it should be mentioned that it is precisely because of the naturalness of the material that it allows the skin to breathe. A person wearing clothes made of this fabric feels cool and fresh for a long time. In addition, due to its ability to "breathe", Tencel not only absorbs moisture, but also evaporates it, which prevents the creation of a favorable environment for the reproduction of bacteria.

If eucalyptus was used in the manufacture of clothes or bed linen from Tencel fabric, such fabric will also have healing properties, contributing to a speedy recovery or maintaining a high level of immunity.

Tencel is also very easy to care for - it is simply washed in a washing machine at a temperature of no more than 30 degrees using powder for colored laundry, dries quickly and practically does not wrinkle. In addition, it is very much loved by fashion designers, as it drapes well, creating soft folds, and does not "crumble" when cutting.

Items made of this material are distinguished by high wear resistance - they do not lose their appearance for a long time. Well, if you repaint them, they take the paint well and hold it for a very long time.

In general, among the main and most appreciated by the consumer properties of Tencel fabric are hypoallergenicity, softness, durability, ease of care, environmental friendliness, antibacterial properties, ability to "breathe", high hygroscopicity and absence of static electricity.
