Dornit is the most widespread geosynthetic nonwoven fabric in Russia. The most extensive area of its application is road construction and repair. Dornit service life is more than 25 years. The material is not susceptible to the formation of fungus, rotting and damage by rodents.

Instructions

Step 1

Dornit, aka geotextile, is often used in various construction works. When creating roads, this non-woven covering, laid according to certain rules, prevents the soil from falling through the cracks in the joints of the slabs. Dornit makes the road more resistant to static loads.

Step 2

Geotextiles are placed between gravel and clay layers, thereby protecting the road surface from sinkholes and cracks in the surface. Due to its good capillarity, dornite often serves as a drainage layer in the construction of structures.

Step 3

Nonwovens are sometimes used in railway construction as well. Geotextiles are used to separate local soil from the ballast layer, filter groundwater and transverse drainage of water, followed by its removal into special ditches. Dornite-reinforced slopes and slopes are more stable and have lower tensile stress.

Step 4

Geotextiles are suitable for the construction of temporary roads. A layer of dornite ensures an even distribution of pressure and prevents the penetration of foreign particles into the base soil. The slopes of overpasses and roads are often reinforced with dornits and geogrids. This non-woven coating is also used as a backing material between the ground and the gabion.

Step 5

Sometimes geotextiles are used in the construction of pedestrian zones. To prevent the paving slabs from sagging over time, the crushed stone layer is separated from the soil layer and the crushed stone pillow from the sand mixture layer with dornit. When constructing buildings made of concrete in sub-zero temperatures, due to the crystallization of water, the properties of the concrete mixture deteriorate, so that this does not happen, the concrete is covered with dornite. Geotextiles allow to evenly remove moisture from the drying mixture and prevent loss of strength due to excessively rapid evaporation of the liquid.

Step 6

Geotextile fabric is also used in the construction of coastal protection structures. In this case, it serves as a separator between the gabion aggregate and the soil. Dornit also prevents soil particles from being washed out. Non-woven coating is used in the construction of artificial reservoirs, in this case, it is placed between the waterproofing and the soil layer and protects the geomembrane.

Step 7

Non-woven synthetic coating is resistant to chemical attack of the external environment, ultraviolet light and high breaking loads, therefore it is widely used in landscape design. Dronite is used to separate soil, layers of sand and gravel, to protect waterproofing materials from rodents and mechanical damage. In addition, geotextiles prevent weeds from germinating. Geotextile fabric can act as a filter layer, and its varied color range allows dronite to be used as a decorative material.
