A business card not only carries important information about a company or a person, but also has aesthetic value. It should be elegantly and rigorously framed, printed on good quality paper, and neatly cut.
Necessary
- - sheets with printed business cards;
- - scissors;
- - ruler;
- - pencil;
- - stationery knife;
- - guillotine, saber or disc cutter.
Instructions
Step 1
If you printed business cards in Word, then look - along the edge of the sheet there are marks that will appear outside the business cards after cutting. Assess your possibilities, if you have nothing but scissors for cutting business cards, use a ruler to draw cutting lines. To do this, apply a ruler so as to connect the inner ends of the marks and draw a line very thinly with a pencil.
Step 2
Thus, connect all the labels by drawing the sheet into rectangles. Check, they should all be the same size. Take your scissors and cut the business cards neatly. Then take an eraser and erase the pencil lines around the edges of the business cards.
Step 3
If, in addition to the ruler, you have a clerical knife, do without tracing. Simply place the ruler against the edges of the marks, press firmly and forcefully slide the knife along the ruler. In this way, several sheets can be cut at the same time, aligning them along the edge. At the same time, place a cutting board or unnecessary cardboard under the sheets, as the knife will cut through the sheets of business cards.
Step 4
If you regularly need to cut business cards or other printing materials (for example, calendars), purchase a disk, saber or guillotine cutter. Please note that it is also convenient to use a disk cutter to cut large-format sheets, and with a saber cutter it is difficult to cut stacks of thick paper.
Step 5
To cut the paper into business cards with a guillotine knife, fold the sheets into a stack and align along the edge, press with a special clip. If necessary, mark the cutting location with a ruler.
Step 6
Bring the stack to the cutting area and remove your hands. Lower the guillotine arm and check the cut quality.
Step 7
Always trim the edges of the paper first, as even a good printer prints a little crooked, which means business cards are angled to the sides of the paper.
Step 8
Once the edges are perfectly straight, cut the stack into strips along the sheet. Fold the strips together and cut them into separate posts. If the number of stripes or columns is even, it is convenient to first cut the sheet in the middle, then fold the stacks together and divide in half again.
