There are a number of mandatory requirements for the carriage of oxygen cylinders. This gas is an explosive substance, therefore the cargo is classified as hazardous. Before getting behind the wheel, the driver undergoes a medical examination and instruction.
Instructions
Step 1
An oxygen cylinder is a hazardous cargo. The rules for the carriage of this gas are regulated by several regulatory documents: Resolution No. 91 of Gosgortekhnadzor dated 06/11/13, Rules for the Construction and Safe Operation of Gas Vessels, Rules for the Carriage of Inert Gases and Oxygen.
Step 2
Liquid oxygen is an active paramagnet. When in contact with any solid object, it causes its fragility. If this liquid with a bluish tinge hits the asphalt surface, an explosion will follow. Therefore, its transportation must be carried out in strict accordance with the rules and instructions. The first requirement for transportation is that it is carried out only with the help of cars or special autocars. Oxygen cylinders should be painted blue, the machine is equipped with spring shock absorbers to prevent strong vibrations during movement.
Step 3
Particular attention is paid to the placement of cylinders: they must be laid horizontally, safety gaskets are installed between the containers. In their capacity, you can use wooden blocks, on the opposite sides of which there are recesses-nests that hold the oxygen cylinders in a stationary position. In the absence of bars, you can use a thick (at least 2.5 cm thick) rope or rubber. Rings are made of these materials, which are put on vessels with gas. Each of them must have two separators: top and bottom. Protective caps are put on the valves and the cylinders are placed in one direction.
Step 4
For the transportation of containers with oxygen, there are containers equipped in accordance with the rules for the carriage of dangerous goods. In them, the vessels with gas are arranged vertically, but each of them is equipped with spacers. During transportation, cylinders must be protected from overheating and contact with any lubricants. This requirement is due to the explosion hazard of the gas. During transportation, you should avoid driving near an open fire, it is forbidden to leave the load unattended.
Step 5
The transportation of containers with liquefied or compressed oxygen is allowed for adults who have undergone training and medical examination. At least once a year, drivers are tested for knowledge of the instructions and rules for working with liquefied oxygen. Permission to transport oxygen cylinders with oxygen is issued by a special order. In the event of an accident or tragedy involving the death of people, the driver is responsible for the incident.
