Clouds are condensations of water vapor visible from the surface of the earth. The composition of the clouds depends on the ambient temperature. They can be drip, crystalline and mixed.

Step 1
In the event that individual cloud elements become too large, they begin to separate from the clouds in the form of precipitation. Most precipitation comes from clouds in which at least one layer has a mixed composition. Drizzle precipitation, as a rule, falls from clouds of uniform composition.
Step 2
Most often, clouds can be found in the troposphere. They are all classified according to international standards. Some types of clouds, such as noctilucent, can be found at an altitude of eighty kilometers.
Step 3
The clouds of the lower tier, which are located at an altitude of two kilometers, include stratus, stratocumulus and stratocumulus clouds. The middle layer (2-7 km) is represented by altocumulus and altostratus clouds. The upper tier of tropospheric clouds includes cirrus with all their varieties. They are found at altitudes up to 13 kilometers.

Cirrus clouds are a collection of individual elements, presented in the form of white threads or shreds. Usually, this type of cloud has a fairly large sphere of propagation in the vertical direction. This is due to the large size of the crystals of which they are composed.
Step 5
Stratus clouds vaguely resemble fog. They are formed quite close to the surface of the earth, representing a single dense layer with a height of fifty to 500 meters. Sometimes this type of cloud merges with a terrestrial phenomenon such as fog.
Step 6
Cumulus clouds are dense enough clusters of crystals with strong vertical positioning. Most often they are areas of convection, stretching several kilometers in height.
Step 7
It should be noted that clouds are also found on other planets of the solar system and their satellites. Naturally, their nature is radically different from terrestrial clouds. This is due to the differences in the composition of the atmospheres of each planet.
