Pumping liquid from one container to another seems like a simple task at first, especially if the volume required is small, and there are no obstacles to implementing this venture. But what, for example, about a static fuel tank that cannot be picked up and overturned?

Necessary

  • - hose;
  • - canister;
  • - pump.

Instructions

Step 1

Determine the level of the position of the container to which the liquid is to be pumped in relation to the original container. It can be either higher or lower. The mechanism of further work depends on this parameter.

Step 2

If possible, make sure that the tank to which you want to pump liquid is below the level of the container from which the contents will be pumped. This will create natural physical conditions and avoid the use of additional mechanisms. For example, you can do this when pouring fuel from a gas tank into a canister.

Step 3

Take the hose, insert one end of it into the first container so that it is immersed in the liquid.

Step 4

Now we need to create thrust. To do this, take the other end of the hose into your mouth and make a characteristic movement, as if you want to suck in a cocktail through a straw. But just do not get carried away, you do not need to swallow, otherwise you risk ruining your appetite for at least a couple of days.

Step 5

As soon as you intuitively feel the flow of gasoline flowing through the hose, abruptly lower its end into the second container - the liquid will continue to accumulate further until the entire contents are pumped. If you need to pour only part of the fuel, then it is easy to stop the process - just raise the canister above the level of the gas tank after reaching the required volume level in the canister.

Step 6

In order to organize the pumping of liquid into a container that is above its level, a pump is required. No other way. The nature of the device depends on the type of content, its intended size and other conditions. A well pump can be used to lift, for example, water from a pit. But its circular counterpart allows you to control the level of liquid in the pipes of home heating and pump it in a timely manner. Submersible units are lowered into the water itself, and surface units work afloat.
