The fruits ripen one month after the beginning of flowering. The dandelion fruit is an oblong-shaped gray-brown achene bearing a tuft of hairs on a long stalk. All parts of the dandelion contain milky white juice.
Dandelion root contains bitterness (taraxacin, taraxacerol), triterpene alcohols, resinous substances, inulin, vitamins, fatty oil, calcium, protein and other substances.
