Modern life dictates the rules. But what to do when someone tries to impose on you "someone else's opinion"? And the excitement plays an important role here. So is the hype for trade a natural phenomenon or an acquired disease?

What is hype
What is hype

Have you ever thought about today's market? Indeed, very often a person becomes a part of someone's well-planned action. It's about competitiveness, and more specifically about a way to attract more attention to a particular subject. This phenomenon is called hype.

Referring to dictionaries, you can find several interpretations of this phenomenon. For example, according to Ozhegov:

"Excitement is an artificial, speculative increase or decrease in the exchange rate of securities or commodity prices in order to extract more profit."

Some historical facts

For a long time and almost everywhere people come across the word "excitement". But where did this expression come from?

Everything is very simple, it turns out, the word was adopted from the graceful French back in the early 18th century. Those, in turn, "took" the word from the Italians. The excitement was applicable only while working on exchanges. He determined the raising of plans, the sale and purchase of securities. Over time, the word came out "to the people" and acquired many shades. The excitement appeared in everything: securities, sales. It soon developed that the concept becomes inseparable with the release of information and rumors about a particular product.

How does it work

A new small company has been unsuccessfully offering a certain product on the market for some time. There is supply, but not demand. What do experienced PR managers do? Some kind of news related to the product is created. Excellent advertising and rumor that the product will either disappear from the markets after a while or become more expensive. A person is inherently very gullible, and therefore, after a while, you can observe the excitement in relation to this or that product. Try to remember the popularity of selling talking hamsters on the Internet in 2013.

There are actually a lot of examples of successfully created excitement around a certain product. But it also happens that a spontaneously started growth in sales does not subside for a long time, and then stabilizes at a good level and brings the brand to a new level.

Go with the flow or go against the system? Everyone has long been deciding for himself, but is it worth it to contradict what sometimes is even beneficial to us. One thing you need to remember for sure: excitement is a phenomenon that comes, learn to guess the time so as not to miss the chance to turn the situation in a winning direction for you.
