Stuttering is a violation of the rhythm of speech, when the speaker either repeats certain sounds many times, or drags them too long. The causes of this ailment have not yet been completely clarified. In difficult life situations, stuttering is sometimes observed even among those who speak absolutely normally at other times. A person can cope with such manifestations on their own, while severe logoneuroses must be treated.
Necessary
- - a collection of breathing exercises;
- - a collection of tongue twisters;
- - computer with programs "Speech corrector" and "Demosthenes"
- - headphones and microphone.
Instructions
Step 1
Pay attention to the situations in which you start to stutter. This may not necessarily be an exam or other public performance. There are people who start to stutter when communicating with government officials, employees of banks and utilities, sellers and waiters. Some are ashamed of their speech and try to avoid such communication. Such a restriction will not lead to anything, except for a deterioration in the quality of life. So think about why you stutter in these situations and speak perfectly normal at other times.
Step 2
Try to convince yourself that you are not the only person taking an exam, interviewing, or making a complaint. Think ahead of what you will say. Focus on your thoughts, not the specifics of your speech. The less you pay attention to this feature, the better. Explain to yourself that in a bank or store, you are a customer or a customer, and an employee must serve you no matter how you say it.
Step 3
Simulation of various situations helps many people. Play a role-playing scene at a bank or store. Change roles periodically. Imagine yourself as a seller and a buyer. Try to act out not only extraordinary, but also the most ordinary daily situations.
Step 4
Work on your speech. Start with breathing exercises. Exercises can be done at any free moment, they do not require any special conditions. For example, stand up straight and relax your arms and shoulders. Lean forward and at the very end of the bend, take a quick and deep breath. Gradually straighten up and exhale slowly.
Step 5
Take some of the exercises from the singers. Inhale so that the air column rests on the diaphragm. Sing or speak several sounds while breathing out slowly. Singing lessons will also help. Singers almost never stutter, as breathing exercises for them are part of their professional training. Breathe in between phrases and try to get enough air.
Step 6
Learn tongue twisters. Any will do. Try to pronounce them clearly. Speak slowly and clearly at first, then pick up your pace. Don't forget to control yourself. If at first something does not work out - do not be embarrassed and continue.
Step 7
Use the computer program "Speech corrector". It can be used to synchronize hearing and speech aids. The program "Demosthenes" allows you to simulate various speech situations. Often, a stutter defect occurs in cases where the interlocutor does not react quite adequately. The program just allows you to get used to such situations.
