Necessary
- - gloves;
- - gauze bandage;
- - a cloth bag, basket or bucket;
- - water;
- - paper.
Instructions
Step 1
Collect celandine when it blooms in dry weather. Thus, the plant will dry faster and the likelihood of decay can be excluded. Choose only those flowers that grow in the shade, because in darkened places they are more saturated with useful medicinal properties.
Step 2
Determine the right place to collect this herb. It should grow in wild places, remote from the highway, city, industrial zones, garbage dumps.
Step 3
When harvesting, always take precautions. Put gloves on your hands and a gauze bandage on your face before you start collecting celandine. These measures are necessary due to the fact that the plant is very poisonous, and pollen can cause allergies and irritation of the mucous membranes. If you do cut the plant with your bare hands, then do not touch your face with them or rub your eyes.
Step 4
Pull the bush out of the ground along with the root. Make sure the plant is not damaged. The leaves should be rich green, free from traces of fungal and other diseases. Collect celandine in a basket, cloth bag or bucket, try not to break or crush the plant.
Step 5
Thoroughly rinse the stem and roots with water, then divide the celandine into several bunches and hang to dry in a well-ventilated and dark place, an attic or a place on the balcony that is sheltered from the light may be an ideal option. The better the conditions for fast drying are created, the more juice and beneficial properties will be preserved in the plant. In the case of slow drying, the likelihood of spoilage of raw materials increases.
Step 6
After the grass is dry, collect it in a common bunch and wrap it in paper. Close the root system tightly, leave the upper part ajar. Celandine can be kept in boxes or other containers for several years, the main thing is that the room is dry, dark and well ventilated.
