Step 1

Mutual PR is a system of mutual advertising of two or more companies, which are carried out by businessmen in order to replenish the number of their clients or subscribers. Mutual PR is a very profitable and cheap form of advertising, often such advertising is done free of charge for both partners, but sometimes a certain agreed percentage may be taken for each attracted client. Mutual publicity can be both very successful and completely disastrous, depending on the methods used by businessmen and the audience to which this form of advertising is used.

Step 2

Mutual PR promotions can be carried out for offline and online business, for almost any kind of validity. In principle, there are no restrictions and conditions under which mutual PR would work poorly only because of the scope of the existing business. However, for a successful mutual PR, you need to fulfill some conditions: your business must have existing clients at the beginning of the promotion, that is, the business should not be at the very beginning of development. In addition, it is better to conduct mutual PR promotions with those companies that do business in the same area with you, or with which you may have approximately similar clients.

Step 3

But at the same time, the companies selected for holding a mutual PR campaign should not be your direct competitors, it is better to refuse such promotions with them. So, for a beauty salon, mutual PR with a cosmetics store will be beneficial, and for a successful guitar tutor - with a musical instrument store. The areas of business for mutual PR should, as it were, complement each other, only then such advertising will be full and beneficial for companies and their clients.

Step 4

For mutual advertising in an offline business, you need to make advertising brochures or business cards, choose small gifts for customers and negotiate with a friendly company or even several to distribute promotional products. So, with each purchase, customers can be given advertising brochures from a partner company or even small gifts from it with mandatory information about the company. Learning about the activities of such a company, customers can use its services the next time, increasing the flow of customers and, consequently, income. At the same time, advertising spending is limited only by ordering promotional items or gifts, which is relatively inexpensive.

Step 5

In an online business, mutual advertising costs can be even lower or even zero. There, mutual PR is designed primarily for subscription bases, that is, materials or advertisements sent by e-mail to subscribers. If two businessmen have separate subscription bases, then they can provide mutual advertising of another business to their subscribers. Or offer some kind of free service from your partner - a book, valuable materials, a video - in exchange for an email address. Then the partner collects such addresses and receives the replenishment to his subscription base. Of course, these are not his customers yet, but only the readers of his mailing list, but over time you can make real customers out of them, if you make an effort and give readers useful information.
