The most common cause of rusty water is old, obsolete pipes. It can be both the central water supply system in the house itself, and elementary rotted pipes in the apartment. If the problem is in the system itself, then this means that the problem of rusty water affects all, without exception, residents of this house. The solution to this situation lies only in the complete replacement of all risers.

The next reason is the natural properties of underground waters and reservoirs, from where the utilities draw water, process it, and only then through the water supply system they deliver it to the end user in a bath, shower, tap, pool or in any other way he needs. Iron is found in water from underground sources in a soluble form. Such water is absolutely transparent and seemingly clean, but it takes a little time in the air, and it begins to exude an unpleasant odor. Such water needs to be subjected to multi-stage purification, many stages of which are associated with the conversion of the iron contained in the water into an insoluble form.

Any water contains impurities of heavy metals, but, depending on the characteristics of a particular territory, this water is heterogeneous. It can contain a large amount of carbon dioxide, then the iron dissolves in it and the water acquires the same reddish-brown hue. But in the northern regions of the country, the water has a high Ph level, in other words, it is alkaline. In such an environment, iron oxidation is very difficult, which significantly reduces the cost of water purification and treatment.

Many villages in our country have not yet reached such a blessing of civilization as a water supply system, so they still dig and use wells there. In natural artesian water, the iron content is colossal, but it is very easy to fight this - this water is defended for several days, waiting for all the iron to precipitate and remain at the bottom of the container. Then a newspaper is taken, folded into a funnel, charcoal is poured into it (from a stove or fire) and this water is passed through such a simple "filter". Now you can drink the water.
