For many hundreds of years, people have been learning to correlate animal behavior and current weather with the forecast for the coming days. And although now society is used to relying on the promises of weather forecasters, it is useful and interesting to learn folk signs.

Step 1

In the summer, most of the signs are associated with rain, because the main task of the peasant was to grow the crop. Precipitation is signaled by bindweed, clover, mallow, white water lily and dandelion that have covered their flowers, as well as strongly smelling sweet clover and yellow acacia. A quick rain is promised by spiders hiding in the far corners and fireflies that have extinguished their lights. It will pour from the sky in a couple of hours, if the dragonflies began to fly not one by one, but in large groups. It will be a fine day, most likely, if the pigeons began to coo loudly, and the ants opened almost all the entrances to their home. Before the wind intensifies, spiders fold their cobwebs, and sparrows huddle under the roof.

Step 2

By the nature of many autumn phenomena, one can judge what this season will be like and what winter will bring. Rapid leaf fall - for a frosty and long winter, and the appearance of mosquitoes in October-November - for a soft and short one. Indian summer is judged by the first day of autumn warming: it predicts the weather for this entire short period. Particular attention should be paid to several autumn dates. If there is a thaw on November 8, the winter will be damp and warm. And on November 12, they notice: many tits have flocked to a person's dwelling - the cold will soon come.

Step 3

In winter, many people expect warming. Nature sends many signals about pleasant weather changes. Towards the thaw, sparrows shout noisily and bullfinches chirp, crows play and rustle, geese cackle. Before the cold snap, dogs and cats curl up and hide their nose, titmice squeak, sparrows sit in the trees ruffled and silent. Hunters rush to hide from blizzards and snowstorms if they see partridges and black grouse leaving open places and hiding in a dense forest. Domestic cats before the winter storm try to dig the floor, scratching the walls with their paws. But if the smoke from the chimneys rises in a column, you can expect sunny calm weather with a hard frost.

Step 4

According to the changeable weather of spring, one can make forecasts for its further course and even summer days. Early snow melting is a bad signal: there will be more snowfalls and frosts. And if it turns water rapidly - the summer will be rainy. The strength of the flood is judged by the crow's nests. The higher these birds climbed the trees, the wider the rivers will spill. In April, you can follow the change in temperature throughout the day. The hotter it is during the day and the colder it is at night, the more cloudy the summer will be. Also, summer rains promise a large amount of birch sap. And if the rowan has released flowers later than usual, then the autumn will most likely be late.
