A person perceives information much better when it is structured. If you want your ideas to be understood by as many of your listeners or readers as possible, take some time to create a beautiful and visual diagram.
Necessary
- - computer programs for creating diagrams and diagrams;
- - paper (for example, Whatman paper, flipchart sheets);
- - felt-tip pens, markers, colored pencils;
- - scanner or camera.
Instructions
Step 1
Structure the question you are about to talk about. Clearly identify the topic, highlight the main sections, in each section, highlight the subsections or key points. Follow the MECE principle (“Mutually Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive”), this is one of the basic principles of the world famous McKinsey company.
Step 2
Select the appearance of the diagram based on the question structure you created. For example, if you want to indicate the relative weight or importance of a section, create a pie chart. For questions whose sections and subsections are easily categorized into levels, use a hierarchical scheme. If there are many interrelationships between different aspects of the problem, draw a mental map.
Step 3
Choose the method in which you will create the circuit: using computer programs or manually. Even if you draw a diagram on a piece of paper, it can always be converted into electronic form using a scanner or camera.
Step 4
Apply different colors and graphics. Enclose the titles of sections and subsections in geometric shapes of different shapes and colors. Use fonts of different sizes and weights, as well as different arrows, lines and pictograms. If you create a diagram by hand, draw and write with markers and / or colored pencils.
Step 5
Be sure to write a title for the picture that reflects its meaning. Make sure all words are easy to read and that the outline reflects the message you want to convey to your audience or readers.
