Step 1
Find out if you are eligible to post what you are about to post. For example, perishable foodstuffs, aerosol cans, alcoholic beverages, any tobacco products - cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco, as well as seeds and plants cannot be sent abroad. Jewelry and art objects will also not be released from the country in a package.
Step 2
Check with the person to whom you are sending the package, his address. A Canadian address should look like this: house number, apartment number (if any), street name, city name, province, country, zip code. There are six characters in the Canadian postal code, and there are not only numbers, but also letters.

If what you want to send meets the requirements, please repack the package. If you are shipping soft items such as clothing, it may be sufficient to wrap them in heavy-duty plastic. Otherwise, you will need a cardboard box, but not too large - the items should be packed tightly. To preserve the integrity, you can additionally wrap the shipped items in wrapping paper. Do not tape the box - the postman may need to familiarize himself with the contents. For an additional fee, postal workers will be able to pack your package themselves.
Step 4
Calculate the cost of sending a parcel to know how much money you need to pay for postage services. You can do this yourself on the Russian Post website. To do this, go to the organization's website in the "Postal services" section, then in the "Calculate the cost of sending a parcel" subsection. Select the automatic calculator menu to calculate the cost of international mail. In the window that opens, specify the country, type of parcel, as well as its weight and the desired declared value. Click on the "Calculate" button. The system will give you the cost of the government fee for forwarding your mail.
Step 5
Come to the post office with the package. It is better to contact the Central Post Office - usually its employees have more experience in sending various things abroad. Contact your postal clerk. Tell him the address of the person to whom the package is intended, and give him the items to be forwarded. Pay for mail services.
