There are many questions to modern popular music, sometimes the compositions are absolutely meaningless, often incomprehensible and almost always do not shine with the depth of the lyrics and the quality of the rhymes. Everyone is already accustomed to this, but this does not mean that their creators are illiterate or catastrophically stupid. Do not forget that demand creates supply.
A fleeting fall
And not a word about the future, No continuation
No geisha kiss.
Everything is not easy in our souls
White and black mixed
To comfort your pain with pain
Maybe only an anti-geisha.
This is the chorus of the popular song of the group "ViaGra".
Who are geisha?
The inhabitants of Japan have always differed from the Western countries in their mentality, perception, outlook on life. And in earlier times, this difference was even more striking. The leading elite of the state not only considered themselves the elite, the governors of the gods on earth, they also behaved accordingly. Even while on vacation, the gentlemen preferred not base pleasures with easily accessible women, but high society conversations about art and music, and therefore a whole stratum, a caste, a profession called "gay sya" appeared in Japanese society, which literally means "a man of art", and this role was originally performed by men, since in Japan it was customary to spend leisure time for men separately from women.
These "gay sya" were highly educated, witty, talented: they played traditional instruments, sang, wrote poetry, and held traditional tea ceremonies. In addition, they were well versed in politics, literature and philosophy. In a word, they could support any conversation. Their company and it was customary to enjoy among the rich and influential gentlemen of the Land of the Rising Sun.
Over time, women took over the gay Xia relay. Whole geisha schools appeared, where girls were taught and raised. Moreover, they now also learned the art of flirting, but at the same time maintaining their dignity and in no case overstepping the framework. Therefore, geisha were not prostitutes at all. Their functions remained to decorate parties, conduct tea ceremonies, and hold a conversation.
What are they still singing about in a song?
The ViaGra group, together with the entire team, create works of pop culture, and compositions of this kind are created for the mass audience. And the latter, in turn, wants to hear the groovy melody, without delving into the meaning of the text. Therefore, the creators of such hits do not jump over their heads, responding only with supply to demand, and looking for meaning where there is none is a thankless task. To say that there is some kind of relationship between the chorus and the verses is probably also wrong.
We can only assume that given what is known about geisha, in fact, there can be “no continuation of the kiss of a geisha”, because geisha flirt only to maintain a warm atmosphere, they do it out of expediency, their feelings and thoughts at such moments have nothing to do with what is happening. And in order to get a real emotional response, to see white and black souls, you will have to find another woman, an “anti-geisha,” for whom this is not another holiday that needs to be arranged so that everyone is happy.
