Sometimes, through the negligence of a child or an adult, a book can tear. Then you have to put it in order by all available means. For minor repairs, you can use masking tape, which you can buy at a stationery store, or tape. It is harder to get a book back to normal if its cover has come off or many pages have fallen out, but these problems can be solved.

Necessary

  • - masking tape;
  • - Scotch;
  • - glue;
  • - threads and a needle;
  • - awl.

Instructions

Step 1

To glue the torn off page of the book, hold it back to its original location. Measure the masking tape to the correct length and apply adhesive to it. Attach the tape so that it covers not only the page, but also part of the binding (it is possible that it covers a small part of the next page). Spread the tape and let the glue dry. Now all the pages are in place.

Step 2

To glue the torn page, take scotch tape, then the text on it will remain readable. Cut a piece of it to the required length and glue the entire page with it, even if it is not completely torn. Do not cut off the tape in the middle of the page, as it may peel off slightly over time, causing the next page to stick to that page. In addition, a fully glued page will be much stronger than non-glued pages.

Step 3

If the paperback book has fallen apart into pages, then fold all the pages numbered. Puncture 3 holes in the collected stack of pages with an awl. Use a drill to make holes easier. Depending on the size of the book, you can increase the number of holes, for example, for A4 format it is better to make 7 holes.

Step 4

Begin sewing the block of pages, first pulling the thread to one end from the second hole. Then go back to the first hole, tighten the thread well and tie it so that the knot is on the hole. For reliability, glue the spine of the book with glue and let dry.

Step 5

Restore in this way only those books that have a large enough internal field, otherwise you can sew up some of the text.

Step 6

Glue the spine of the book over with tape. You can also laminate the cover with scotch tape. Only first practice on a regular sheet of paper, since having glued the adhesive tape incorrectly, it is not possible to remove it. Take a wide tape and carefully stick the strips next to each other on the cover. The restoration is over.
