Necessary

  • Thin hookah brush
  • Fishing line
  • Rag
  • Baking soda

Instructions

Step 1

First you need to disassemble the hookah. Remove the foil from the hookah bowl and remove the remaining tobacco, then pour out all the liquid from the jug. After that, you can proceed to the next step.

Step 2

Reassemble the hookah without going through the process of attaching the pipe. Place the mouthpiece (the elongated opening to which the tube connects) to the water faucet so that the water is poured into it in a thin stream. When the hookah is full, remove the tobacco bowl from it and place the shaft up to the tap so that water can flow through this hole as well. It is advisable to rinse the hookah for at least 10 minutes.

Step 3

After rinsing, disassemble the hookah and lay out its individual elements on a clean towel to dry. The towel must certainly be fresh so that the hookah does not absorb foreign odors.

Step 4

Now it's time to start cleaning the pipe. Contrary to popular belief, you should not pass a stream of water through it, from this the tube deteriorates, both outside and inside. A thin hookah brush is best for cleaning short pipes. If you do not have a brush or the tube is too long, then you can arm yourself with a regular fishing line, tying a soft cloth to its middle. The line should be twice as long as the tube so that you can push one end of the line into the tube and, grabbing it, drag the tied cloth along its entire length. If after the first time the fabric is very dirty, then repeat the procedure by tying a new cloth.

Step 5

Dilute the baking soda in water to a slurry consistency. This mixture should be used to clean the tobacco bowl. After cleaning, rinse the bowl in running water.

Step 6

When all parts of the hookah are washed, it is necessary to dry them. For this, no mechanical means such as a fan or a hair dryer are used. It will take you 15 to 20 hours to completely dry the hookah.
