A lost earring can be a very nasty surprise. To prevent this from happening, wear your jewelry more carefully, check the locks of the earrings and take care to increase their reliability.

When buying earrings, pay attention not only to their design, but also to what kind of lock this or that model is equipped with. The English castle is considered the most reliable. It fixes the jewelry well in the lobe and is not subject to spontaneous opening. The English lock should be fastened tightly enough, while not scratching the skin or squeezing the lobe.
Step 2
Be careful with the earrings hanging from a simple shackle without a lock. They cling to the hair and can easily and imperceptibly fall out of the ears. To fix it more securely, putting on earrings, attach the silicone plugs with which the jewelry was sold in the store to the temples. They can be replaced with small pieces cut out of an eraser.
Step 3
Hinges equipped with fasteners are more reliable. The only drawback of this model is that it is rather difficult to fasten them in the ear, moreover, a simple lock can easily unfasten. Having put on such an earring, be sure to check if the end of the loop has caught on the triangular fastening, otherwise you may not notice how the earring will slip out of the earlobe.

Earrings-studs, equipped with a rod, on which a metal removable retainer is put on, are also easy to lose. The peculiarity of this model is that more often it is not the earring that is lost, but the lock itself. When buying studs, check how easy the retainer fits on. If it slides freely on the rod, look for another pair. The studs should be firmly fixed in the ears.

An unsuccessful lock can be improved. For example, you can buy or order more reliable stud retainers. A simple loop can be supplemented with a counterweight to prevent the earring from flipping, or a clasp can be attached for a more secure fit. To get the job done well, consult a good jeweler.
Step 6
To protect your earrings from loss, be sure to take them off before swimming in the sea, river or pool, do not take a shower or bath in them. And, of course, do not forget to take out your earrings when heading to the sauna or steam bath. Do this well in advance. If you have to remove your jewelry outside the home, carefully put it away in your wallet or cosmetic bag. Don't put them in your pocket - light earrings will fall out.
