A fur coat adorns every woman. And naturally, everyone wants to flaunt in exquisite fur clothes for more than one year. But what to do if you find a cracked seam on your fur coat or accidentally tore it in the most noticeable place? You should not despair, do not rush to run to a fur atelier either. Any fur coat, unless, of course, you have pulled out a huge clump from it by the roots, it is quite possible to sew it up with your own hands.
Necessary
thread, needle, glue, gauze, pieces of fur, scissors
Instructions
Step 1
The lining on the fur coat can be of two types: stitched along the edge of the hem or loose. If the lining is not sewn on, just turn the fur coat inside out so that the breakout point is available to you. If the lining is firmly attached to the fur part of the garment, gently rip apart the fabric in front of where the fur was torn. Then, when all the restoration work is completed, the lining can be sewn over the edge or on a typewriter.
Step 2
Very often, fur products are torn at the seams. The skin itself has sufficient flexibility and elasticity, but the threads with which various parts are sewn can disperse under the influence of temperature, moisture and pressure. Carefully disassemble the break. If you see that the fur coat itself has not suffered, and the problem really lies in the threads holding the different skins together, feel free to sew the gap over the edge. Try not to displace the parts relative to each other, so that the fur coat does not tilt to the side, and the place of your repair is not striking with excessive tuberosity or a strange arrangement of the pile. Carefully lay out the fur coat on a flat surface and make the first line, after which you can put on the product and see if you have connected everything correctly. If there are no errors, sew on the details more firmly. The pile and long guard hair of the fur, after stitching the parts, must be carefully removed to the front side of the fur coat with a needle and combed.
Step 3
If you notice that the part of the fur coat itself is torn, you can also handle it on your own. Carefully place the damaged parts together and secure with pins, then place a layer of gauze or other loose fabric on top. With gauze, you can glue products one to another. It is better to use ordinary glue "moment" or special glue for leather and suede products, which is sold in a specialized store. Such a patch will last for a long time and will not affect the properties of your fur coat.
