Instructions

Step 1

Before you start defining a building's fire hazard category, learn what they can be. Category A - increased explosion-fire, category B - explosion-fire; categories B1 - B4 - fire hazard, category G - moderate fire hazard, category D - low fire hazard. The criteria for determining the category are the types of combustible substances and materials that are in the room, as well as the characteristics of the work carried out there and the layout of the building.

Step 2

Define the categories by sequentially checking the belonging of a particular room to the category from the most dangerous (A) to the safest (D).

Step 3

If the room contains flammable gases, liquids that can easily ignite at a temperature not exceeding 28 degrees C, then such a room can be safely attributed to category A. Also, the area of such a room should be more than 5% of the total area of the building or 200 square meters … If the ignition temperature of such substances exceeds 28 degrees, then this room belongs to category B. Also, a building belongs to this category if it does not belong to category A, and the total area of premises of category A and B is more than 5% of the total area buildings or 200 square meters.

Step 4

Provided that the room contains flammable liquids and substances that can only burn when interacting with water or with oxygen, and if this room does not belong to categories A or B, it can be added to categories B1 - B4. Also, a building belongs to these categories if the total area of premises of categories A, B, B1, B2 and B3 is more than 5% of the total area of all premises.

Step 5

In rooms of category G, there are non-flammable substances and materials in a hot, melted or hot state, during the processing of which heat, flame, sparks are emitted. As for the definition of category D by area, it is calculated according to the same scheme as the other categories indicated above.

Step 6

And in the premises of category D there are non-combustible substances and materials that have a cold state.
