Currently, there is no single and proven answer to the question of what a poltergeist is. It is known that some parapsychologists engaged in relevant research characterize poltergeist as a form of involuntary psychogenesis.

Step 1

Currently, poltergeist is the collective name for all phenomena of unknown origin. Usually these phenomena are associated with various noises, knocks, spontaneous movements of household items, spontaneous combustion, etc. Translated from German, "poltergeist" means "noisy spirit." Until now, science has not been able to explain this phenomenon: it is not known why paranormal phenomena appear, in what dimension they exist and how exactly they arise.

Step 2

The poltergeist phenomenon has been mentioned in various sources. The earliest mention of the phenomenon of the "noisy spirit" is the chronicle called "Travel in Wales". It was compiled in 1190 by the monk Gerald of Wales. Over the next centuries, the phenomenon of the "noisy spirit" was repeated more than once. In that chronicle, the monk wrote: "They showed themselves, scattering garbage everywhere, tearing woolen and linen clothes, overturning everything that came across on the way."

Step 3

Parapsychologists who study poltergeist believe that its manifestations in different places are not the same. For example, in some houses "barabashka" appears once, without causing much trouble to the residents, and does not return any more, while in others it is so raging that the dwelling needs major repairs. Communicating with people who allegedly had physical contact with half-grays, the researchers note: often the affected residents get the impression that some sophisticated and cunning subject is operating in their house. At the same time, the poltergeist reacts calmly to some guests, calms down at their request, etc., while others simply hates and tries to harm them in every possible way.

Step 4

According to some scientific treatises, written on the basis of certain studies and experiments, certain electrical appliances actively react to the poltergeist. For example, when a “noisy spirit” appears, the counters can spin quickly, and the TV can turn on spontaneously. Some people claim that doorbells also respond to this paranormal activity: the bell rings in the hallway. Parapsychologists believe that there are also vocal "drums". During the appearance of such a poltergeist, someone's voice (or several voices) is heard in the room, uttering various phrases, recommendations, comments. Sometimes such voices sing songs at all.

Step 5

At present, researchers have collected a wealth of material on the phenomenon of poltergeist, which makes it possible to put forward certain hypotheses about its origin. However, all this still has no evidence. Scientists sometimes refer to alien beings, then to dead souls from parallel worlds. Another scientific explanation for poltergeist is based on human psychokenesis, i.e. violations occurring inside the human body and giving impetus to an involuntary phenomenon. The fact is that a person is a complex energy system, theoretically capable of being reflected in the peculiar "behavior" of certain everyday objects. But do not forget that all these are just theoretical assumptions. Until now, no one knows what a poltergeist is, and what is its essence!
