The premiere of the new Batman movie was a shock for the whole world. After all, it ended in a bloody massacre. A 24-year-old fan of a superhero epic rushed into a packed hall with a shotgun and shot people. 14 people were killed, dozens were injured.
It all happened at night, at the premiere of the third film about the Dark Knight. Literally half an hour after the show began, shots were also heard during one of the chase and shooting scenes in the auditorium. According to eyewitnesses, people did not immediately understand what was happening, considering the shooting as part of the special effects to make it more convincing. Only when some of the spectators fell as if knocked down, the rest guessed what had happened.
The offender also threw a smoke bomb into the hall, it brought even more confusion to everything that happens. The shooter himself at that moment fired randomly across the hall. According to experts, he himself was not going to die, as he came through the back door wearing a gas mask and bulletproof vest. At the end of the massacre, he calmly left the cinema and got into the car, where he stayed until the police arrived.
It turned out that the 24-year-old shooter is a fan of the film and its characters, but not positive ones. He really liked the character of Heath Ledger, who terrified everyone - the Joker. It was him that he wanted to imitate. For his sake, when preparing an attack on a cinema, the criminal even dyed his hair red. There is a version that he was addicted to an anesthetic drug from the category of narcotic - Vicodin. It was this drug that ruined the performer of the role of the Joker.
Relatives, relatives, friends and classmates of the Denver shooter still do not understand how this could have happened and what caused such a bloody massacre of people completely unfamiliar to the young man. After all, James Holmes (that is the name of the criminal) was characterized only from the positive side. The neighbors call him considerate and courteous. And in France, where the premiere of the film was supposed to take place on the same day as in Denver, the members of the film crew and the leading actors in the film decided to cancel the premiere of the film as a sign of mourning for the victims.
