There is not enough money for the scholarship. A modest budget doesn't want to "stretch" to the desired size. To solve this problem, experts have two advice in this case - planning and saving.
Savings and the ability to plan costs are a whole science. Some of this knowledge comes from childhood - parents knew how to plan and save and taught their children to do this. Such people, even with a small income, easily manage to make it more expenses. But not everyone knows how to properly distribute their family budget. The first step towards this is that all expenses must be accounted for.
Rule one: make payments immediately
Every person with income of any size has their own standard basic purchases and payments. They are made without fail and are fully forecasted for a month in advance. These purchases and payments must be made as soon as the money arrives. Why? If you pay for the necessities as you feel like going out and doing it, there could be a big financial hole in between. Because human psychology is as follows - today I have a lot of money. I can spend it on whatever I want (finally!). And let the feeling of guilt then arise, but the pleasure from illusory wealth and satisfaction of the desire not to count money will be stronger. It is always necessary to count money. The habit of paying for everything at once is wonderful in that the pile of money is rapidly decreasing, and you cease to be a "rich man" who can spend the entire scholarship uncontrollably and at once. Therefore, payment for an apartment (dormitory), mobile phone, Internet must be made on the day of receiving the scholarship.
Rule two: you are not that rich …
Everyone knows this truth, many repeat it often, but few really follow it. Meanwhile, simple arithmetic will help you understand the genius of this idea. Some sturdy boots that will last more than one season will cost much less than three pairs of low-quality ones, in which the locks will immediately "fly", the sole will come off, the heel will break … Well, there are no good cheap things, no matter how cute they look. Is that on sale. The sales are definitely great. Especially at the end of the season. Especially for poor students. But the secret to saving money on sales is not buying everything from them. On sales, as elsewhere, where there is an opportunity to spend money, you need to go with a list. And do not fall for promotions if they offer products (albeit with a magical discount) that are not included in the list of things you need.
Rule three: think, count, search
Don't have time to go grocery shopping? Find it. And go around all near and far, comparing them for prices, discounts and sales. Often, going to a distant discounter several times a month is much more economical than every evening, going home from school, to collect "by the hungry eye" a mountain of products that will not be used 100%.
