It often happens that cotton items lose their original color and brightness after several washes. Therefore, it occurs to many to repaint a thing in a different color or add juiciness to the coloring. Natural dyes, which are extracted from the roots of plants and leaves, have been displaced from aniline dyes. Artificial dyes are currently used for dyeing fabrics, which have a wide variety of colors and shades.

Instructions
Step 1
It is recommended to dye cotton in an absolutely clean enamel pot. Aluminum and galvanized dishes are unsuitable for these purposes, as they pickle. The dishes must be roomy so that the thing to be painted can freely fit in it, and completely covered with a dye solution. The larger the volume of the dye solution, the more intensively and evenly the material will be colored.
Step 2
For dyeing cotton, it is advisable to take soft water (snow or rain). If the water is initially hard, it can be softened with ammonia or soda ash. To flip you need smooth wooden sticks, they must be strong enough to support the weight of the wetted material.
Step 3
Before painting, be sure to clean the material from dirt and stains. It is advisable to remove a layer of starch from a new cotton thing, then boil it for 30-40 minutes in a soapy solution with the addition of soda. Rinse thoroughly in warm water. If the stains have not been removed from the thing, then you will have to paint it in a very dark color.
Step 4
Pour the required amount of dye into a small enamel container and gradually add boiled water, stirring constantly with a wooden stick. While continuing to stir, add hot boiled water at the rate of one packet of dye to half a liter of water. Strain the resulting solution through cheesecloth and pour into a dyeing dish filled with water of 40-50 degrees, stir thoroughly.
Step 5
Soak the prepared cotton in warm water, wring it out slightly, straighten it well and put it in a saucepan with dye. Heat the solution gradually to a low boil. After 20 minutes, pour in the salt solution (two tablespoons to two liters of water) and continue painting for another 30 minutes at a low boil.
Step 6
Remove the pan from heat and dye the cotton in the cooling solution for 30 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove the painted product from the container and allow the solution to be painted to drain. Rinse well in warm water, changing the water regularly until it is completely clean. It remains to rinse the product in cold water with the addition of vinegar (1 tablespoon per 5 liters of water).
