The ability to apply makeup is a real miracle. It is with him that the image of the character begins. Thanks to well-chosen makeup, you can make the viewer believe that there is an ancient Greek god or a medieval knight, a prince or a beggar, the Frog Princess or Baba Yaga in front of him. Despite the huge range of cosmetics, actors most often use traditional theatrical make-up.

Necessary

  • - greasy makeup;
  • - cream "Nivea", "Children's" or petroleum jelly;
  • - several basics of flesh color (in theatrical sets there are usually 2 or 3);
  • - dry makeup with skin tones;
  • - powder;
  • - shadows;
  • - blush:
  • - gummosis;
  • - glue;
  • - cotton buds;
  • - cotton pads;
  • - sponges;
  • - brushes;
  • - napkins;
  • - mirror.

Instructions

Step 1

Get everything you need ready. Everything, except for theatrical makeup, glue and gummosis, can be bought at a regular perfumery store. Gummosis is used to sculpt details that cannot be obtained by pictorial methods. For example, if you need to radically change the shape of your nose. Add the usual cosmetic set to the set of theatrical makeup. To create a theatrical image, it is better to get loose powder and the same blush.

Step 2

Make-up can be applied in painterly, sculptural or mixed ways. The latter is most often used, since it allows you to combine the advantages of the former and the latter. The choice depends on the character of the character, the type of the actor's face, lighting, and other factors.

Step 3

Consider your face. It has bumps and depressions that need to be considered. If you need to change the shape of the nose or cheekbones, sculpt them out of gummosis. This material is very similar to plasticine and is just as easy to handle. Sculpt the detail. Apply glue to the desired area of the face and detail. Wait a couple of minutes and connect the surfaces.

Step 4

Apply a layer of cream or petroleum jelly. This is a must if you are using dry makeup. In the presence of oily paints, you can do without smearing. Apply the cream in the direction of the massage lines, that is, from the bridge of the nose in arcs to the cheeks, from the middle of the forehead to the temples, etc. There should be no excess fat. If they appear, remove them with a napkin.

Step 5

Apply the foundation in the same way. Use a cosmetic sponge, but you can also apply the base layer with your index finger along the massage lines. Then spread evenly over the entire surface. Remember to cover your earlobes and the part of your neck that will not be covered by the collar. If this is not done, the viewer will feel that the character is wearing a mask.

Step 6

When using the artistic technique of applying makeup, the same laws apply as in painting. That is, bumps and depressions are obtained due to lighter or darker tones. For example, if you apply paint lighter than the main tone on the middle of the forehead, it will appear convex. In the same way, you can visually change the shape of the nose and cheekbones.

Step 7

Draw the main details with lines. Convey the shape of the eyes and eyebrows, nasolabial folds, wrinkles. The lines should be straight, clear and smooth. It is most convenient to apply them with cotton swabs. At this stage, it is very important that the hands do not tremble and the lines are of the thickness that is necessary. The movements must first be worked out. Try to imagine how you would apply makeup on another person's face, and then try on your own.

Step 8

It is very useful to draw the character's face on the sheet. If you are making up for a ready-made image, print two pictures - a portrait of the character and your own photo. Try using ordinary pencils to paint your face so that it looks like the image you want. Remember with what colors you paint different parts of the face.
